More plants for happy workers

It makes sense that your immediate environment affects your concentration and job satisfaction.

Who doesn’t prefer going to work in a pretty, fresh office rather than a dull, grey building? With a few plants around your desk, creating a positive atmosphere is easy as pie (and cheap!).

As humans, we tend to perform better when we feel at ease in our work environment, and plants can make this happen. According to the research, people in offices with lots of plants rate their work environment much more favourably than those in offices void of plants. And a pleasant workplace, filled with nice plants, has a positive effect on the pleasure people take in their jobs. At various test locations with plants, people indicated experiencing more positive feelings about their work. They also worried less about the job at hand. Lots of greenery decreases complaints about the work environment, and can thus also increase the actual time spent working.
